Dear Patient,
1. If you have Skype installed on your computer, you must ensure that it doesn't “auto-launch” when you start your computer, because it could interfere with the video or the sound of Vidyo. If Skype usually auto-launches, then open the program
a. Go into Tools
b. Go into Options
c. Go into General Settings
d. Find the check-box that says, “Start Skype when I start Windows” - uncheck this box
e. If you're on a Mac, this might be a slightly different process
2. Restart your computer, double-checking that Skype didn't start-up. Should be ready for the Vidyo program to run properly now.
3. After you get this email (with these instructions), you'll see a second email which is an “invitation” to download the Vidyo application so that we can speak at the appointed time. It will provide you with a link that will prompt you to download the app. You'll only have to do this the first time we talk. After you install this, the app will pop up and there will be a place for a username and password. Ignore these and minimize the app, and it will automatically “pop-up”when we talk.
4. After that, you'll receive a third email notification which is the “invitation to the appointment,” at the appointed time. When it's time for us to talk, the app will pop-up at your end and you'll be prompted to input your PIN number, which has to be 6 numbers; I've used 123456.
5. If you run into any problems, let me know!
Looking forward to speaking soon.
Cheers,
(Dr) Jenn Rae
